The f4 & See It Foundation was created to support, inspire, and encourage impactful photojournalism and documentary photography in the pursuit of the compelling telling of stories. Stephan coined the term "f4 and See It" as a play on a long-time news photographer's adage "f8 and be there." The new phrase represents forethought and patience, combined with a cognitive and emotional awareness of the story playing out in front of the camera. This approach encourages the anticipation of decisive moments as they occur while crafting images with purpose beyond their archival value. This collection of images reflects decades of work capturing human experiences and emotions within the history they inhabit.
